Back in 2010, John Derrick, Mercer Ranches Vineyard Director, who lost his best friend, Richard Guadagno on Flight 93 on September 11, 2001 and Rob Mercer, Marine and Iraq war veteran decided to plant a vineyard dedicated to this supporting this deserving group of people. From this idea BLOCK 93 Vineyard was planted by 43 people by hand with 911 Cabernet Sauvignon vines, in one of the most highly coveted locations in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. 2014 marked the inaugural vintage of Eagle & Plow BLOCK 93 Cabernet Sauvignon. To date, this project provided over $270,000 in wine and cash donations to support our veterans and service men and women.
100% of all revenue from our Eagle and Plow Cabernet Sauvignon is donated to back to organizations supporting American service people. Some of the groups supported by this initiative include See 4 Vets, Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, Wounded Warriors, Boy Scouts of America, Covid First Responders, Friends of Flight 93 Memorial Foundation, Semper Fi Fund, Operation New Uniform, K9 United and many many more.
We highly encourage you to purchase this wine in our tasting room or online and enjoy it with friends all while knowing you just donated to a group supporting these important people!
We also donate this wine to organizations to use in their own fund raising.
– Rob Mercer and John Derrick
